Hi all,
Hope I'm in the right place. I've got a small open Victorian fireplace with an old, cracked tiled heath which I'd like to replace with cement which I'll then paint. The old tiles are level with the floor, underneath which is about a 1cm drop onto concrete. I'd like to know:
A. if this is a sufficient depth to pour a cement mix into to? I'd like the finished hearth to be level with the floor, so 1cm deep.
B. What cement mix would you recommend?
C. Will it resist the heat without cracking (there is a raised basket which the burning wood sits on)?
Many thanks.
