Had someone in to lower block paving and it's not a very good job I fear.

Cement has been brushed over the top to go into joins and now the paving blocks are stained and have a film of cement in places.

What can be done to remedy this please?

Please be gentle as this is my first post and I'm not too good at confrontation with tradespeople.

Thanks

The only thing I can think of is a pressure washer unless others have better idea.

how long has it been done?

and you are right its not a good job, kiln dried sand should have been used not cement. block paving is a flexible surface not a rigid one!

Beginning last Monday, existing paving was lifted, the ground lowered because it was the same level as DPC, and paving was relaid.

Waiting for 'organ grinder' to call around after last few visits have been from 'monkey' who made and attempt today to scrape film of cement off.

The job seems to have taken far longer than it should have done for a terraced house town garden.

if the paviors are clay, you can use copious amounts of brick/patio cleaning acid to help remove the stains.

this will apply for concrete paviors too, but i'm afraid the acid is totally indiscriminate and will etch the paviors too. :(

Not sure what they are made of........ they are the usual reddish ones that you see.

I will tell the 'organ grinder' that I'm not happy about the state of them and see what his reaction is.

I've got a pressure washer, but I'm not going to volunteer that until I hear what solution, if any, is offered.

Thanks every one for your input.
