So, i'm planning the bench for my garage - I want it to last and don't really want to need to rip it out again any time soon.

Last year I painted the interior with Sandtex masonry paint. It's looking nice, not flaking or anything daft however the bottom is going a touch yellow. I'd imagine it's getting a bit damp, the garage door is ****e (I can put my finger out through the gap between it and the wall) so it's not ideal in there as yet.

But we're planning building works and the door will be sorted with that.

Now, I was wondering if I were to paint the lower 6 rows of brick it would help? I'll be covering it with workbench anyway so i'm not too bothered on the finish (to a certain extent - don't want to hide mistakes) but I am concerned with hiding an issue. I don't really want to hide yellow walls if it's just as easy to paint this stuff on and sort the problem

Is this suitable or do I need to look into tanking?

I hoped I could put this on the 6 rows and maybe 1ft of the floor, cover the floor as planned and largely cover the walls with bench etc.

went for the aquaproofer stuff (sorry the DIY store resident ol' boy trumped you) 2 coats down on one section, see how it holds up.

Was damned cheap compared to Bitument paint too - think they've got their price wrong as it was like £12 for 5l
