hi, recently my central heating has stopped working, the hot water will work when timer is set, and sometimes the heating would come on if the water was on. but will only stay on for a short time.
also iv noticed that boiler will only fire up for a certain time when the hot water is set(is this due to the tank being full??) I have no knowledge in this subject so I hope what im trying to explain makes sense.

I have a potteton suprima 40L boiler currently the light is on amber? and a drayton za5 actuator witc since I have pressed the reset button on the boiler is making a loud bang/springing noise when the heating is switched on.
when I reset the boiler the light starts to flash green then stays on full green then when turn on the heating the actuator starts to make the noise and the light starts to flash amber again.

can anyone advise on what the problem is? iv tried to explain everything but like I say I havnt a clue what im talking about so if any more info is needed please just ask.

thanks in advance

It sounds like the boiler's cutting out on overheat before it gets things hot. That could be or a dud pump or a blockage, or lack of water.

Check there's water in the header (small) tank. Bleed a high radiator and make sure water comes out. Lack of water would normally make the hot water fail first, though.

Your Drayton ZA5 isn't the longest-lasting valve., but it won't make the boiler need resetting.
