Has anyone here got any experience of fitting heating on a canal barge, I have a family member looking to have it done and unfortunately I am not qualified on boats nor have any experience on the options for providing heating.
Any information greatly appreciated.

I was involved - as a weekend chippy rather than skilled fitter - in fitting out a canal boat which has a CH/HW boiler unit and has radiators in all rooms & corridors. It has a reasonably large HW tank allowing showers and baths.

As far as I remember, the owner purchased a rather tall (~6') and thin (~8") boiler unit for use in boats & caravans, for which required a roof vent (air in, fumes out).

A corgi-type bod was called in for the fuel related aspects, as well as the appropriate maritime (?) expert to sign off all work.

If you want I could get part numbers & such from the owner.........?
