CENTRAL HEATING PIPES LEAKING

hello all,
what will be the signs if there is a water leakage somewhere in the pipe work on a central heating system, apart from the obvious wet floor that you might find.
the reason why i ask is if you have a pipe that is hidden in the walls and is leaking, what will be the signs?
will the boiler fire up at all.

Is your boiler a sealed system

no.it has the two tanks in the loft ie expansion tank and the cold water tank.

Tie up the ball valve on the small tank and observe the water level.

If it keeps going down then you know there is a leak.
