Central heating problem

Woke up this morning to a clunking noise (heating was on) . went to have a wee look and it seems to be coming from my 2 port motorised valve there is 2 one above the other noise is coming from the bottom one which has a black bit of plastic ontop like a button and on the side wee lever says a-b the button on the top seems to move and come out and makes a clunking noise then goes down and does it again its a fair noise coming from this and never happened before.
No problem with hot water, just when heating comes on the problem accours

Take the head off and check the spindle is free to move.

If it is, replace the valve head. If it isn't replace the complete valve.
