Can anyone help!?
When turning my Heating or water heating on, the pilot lights fine and is OK for about 3 minutes then switches itself off, when doing this its makes a sound simular to a boiling kettle, maybe a pressure problem?...I had a simular problem about a year ago which turned out to be the Central heating pump, could this of gone already?...is there a simple test for it?

Also...should the central heating pump run all the time or only when heating is turned on?

Thanks John

'Get some sentinel X400 in your system'....is this easy to do?

You need to turn the boiler off, drain some water out of the system about a bucket full, then go to the highest rad on the system, open the blank cap and pour it in, put the blank back on, top up the system and bleed.

Leave it in for a couple of weeks, drain down, fill back up and add some Sentinel X100 Inhibitor and leave in.

Just to add though it can kettle with a faulty pump if it isn't circulating the water round quick enough, maybe before you go into what I said have a look at your pump?

Its easy to do but no professional would want to use X400 which takes four weeks ( not two ) when X800 does the same job better in only three hours!

I am not saying that is the solution to your problem, only commenting on the chemical. I dont know enough about your system or fault to comment on any cause or cure.

Thanks guys...I'm thinking it could be the pump again...is there any easy way of testing the pump?

See the FAQ on the "finger test" but there are other aspects of the pump and system!
