I have a baxi potterton combi boiler. For the past 6 months or so the boiler has been slowly losing pressure over a long period. I have been refilling the boiler but I know this is not the answer long term. I understand that there may be a leak in the system, but if there is, it must be on the downstairs level as there is nothing coming through the ceiling. My question is, would a leak be the only cause of the boiler losing pressure?
Also, just recently I have been detecting an intermittent low rhythmic vibrating rumbling sound, which isn't that loud but it's noticable. I can't work out where it is coming from, whether it's the boiler or the pipes or just the whole system, but when I turn the heating off it stops. I read that this might be air in the system. I have bled the rads, there was some air in the upstairs ones. The rumbling is not so loud but it's still there.
Any ideas please?
