Hi,

I bought a house about a year ago, and today was the first time I turned the central heating on. The central heating works fine. I also replaced the old radiator in the upstairs bedroom with a new one at the same time, I THINK I got the return and flow the right way.

Anyway, I am running the central heating now, and when I turn on the hot water tap in the sink, the water has a cloudy reddish tint to it, like dirty central heating water. the cold water is fine. How could this have happened. If I put the flow and return on the radiator in the wrong way, would it cause this problem?

I have a Worcester 28i Junior with a sealed heating system.

hi ,would'nt worry about flow or return
u could have problem with ur main heat ex split causing heating water into hot water side of heat ex

If you have a hot water tank the coil could have gone letting the heating water into the hot tank and down to hot taps need new cylinder

No hot water cylinder, all mains fed. Sounds like a heat exchanger problem after all... thanks both.
