Hi

Could anyone give me advice? I drained my central heating system down to remove two radiator as i was knocking a wall down to increase the size of my bathroom, i then removed the branch off pipes to the old radiators an put tee pieces in to suppy new radiator, when i tried to top the system up it didnt work, at first i thought i had got the supply and return wrong way, thinking maybe there was a non return vlve stopping the flow? Though it could also be a blockage as there was quite a lot of sludge an debris in the tank? could anyone help me? have i connected wrong or maybe blockage? if blocked what would be the best way to clear? sorry to be so long winded but please help.

Thanks mate,

Have you any advice on how i could remedy it? the most inexpensive way?
thanks for replying.

Hose on drainpipe, and other end on mains tap.
The use of good hose clips is strongly recommended for this method.
As is somebody with a loud voice to keep an eye on the header tank level.

And you MUST clean your system, unless you are willing to fork out lots of money for prematurely deceased rads and boiler.
