Is there anyway of repairing ceramic shower trays? I have just noticed mine has a long thin crack in it. Its a major job to replace it as all the drainage piping is in the ceiling space and means removing part of the plasterboarding etc.
Any advice would be appreciated.

You will end up replacing it in the long term so do it now and don't waste money on trying to repair. :D

have to agree with bahco...shouldn't be that bad...cutting out and replacing a bit of ceiling is not that big a job (if thats whats required)
you might damage the first run of tiles, so have some spare ones

Thanks guys, I had thought as much.

Came across this trawling the internet what do you think www.hometeck-uk-ltd.co.uk?

The unit has been in place for around 14 years and is well supported, can't match the tiles and have no spares as I used them when fitting a new shower screen last year. To remove the ceiling means dimantling the kitchen as well so it is quite a big job.

You shouldn’t have to remove the ceiling; often a couple of strategically placed holes is sufficient to allow access to the underside of the tray, waste & connection to the existing pipe work. I use a 125mm diameter hole cutter for this & also when pulling new electrical cables through a ceiling. Save the plasterboard plugs you cut out & it’s a relatively easy job to stick them back in, tape, fill & paint afterwards; done correctly you won’t see it.

Your link doesnlt seem to work. :!:
