Have got a 9w PLL tube in a fish tank that has its own holder/ballast unit.
I want to upgrade to a better light and can easliy get some matching 18W PLL tubes but need a suitable ballast.
Problem is there are loads of 18W ballasts advertised but they all seem to be for specific tubes such a PL-C, PL-T2, TLD and just a few for PL-L.
Am a bit surprised that there is such a large range for what are such very similar 18w tubes.
Wondered how interchangable they actually are or if anyone can point me in the direction of some small PLL 18w ballasts at a reasonable price.

The cheapest PL-L ones I have found so far are the Philips Matchbox single unit ones at £20 delivered.
Ideally would like two single or a twin unit.
