I've received some bad advice recently from a so call "professional" and am hoping you guys can get be back on the right track. Can any of you recommend a boiler and maybe cylinder that suits my needs , details as follows:

Rads already sized to 16KW
5 bed house
1 main bathroom with bath , no shower
1 en-suite , 1 shower , no bath.
both of the above will be in use at same time along with washing machine and dish washer.
5 bar main water pressure from a 15mm mains inlet.

I wanted a condensing boiler for energy efficiency and was planning on an unvented cylinder for good water pressure , but am open to being persuaded otherwise.

This is a completely new installation.

Thanks in advance

Have what ever you like, what was the bad advice?

You don't need loads of conflicting info from here, you need an engineer you trust.

Bad advice? You ain't seen nothin' yet! But please do tell.
Volume form 15mm main may restrrict what you can do as regards an unvented cylinder.

Totally agree with oilman

Have any friends or family got anyone they could recommend

The system that the engineer designed didn't conform to the latest building regs. I only found this out by asking questions on this forum.

Plenty of friends can recommended plumbers but I haven't found one with an unvented cert.

I'm in the process of ring around local plumbers that are listed with IPHE.

Ask them if they have their Energy and Efficiency C&G. Its all based around the building regs and has been pushed for about a year now. Most worth their salt will have done it. Where are you?

Henfield close enough to you? Look up Henfield Heating- Mike- top man!

Yep - only a few miles down the road. I've found his number - I'll give him a call. Thanks.
