Hi,

In a well maintained CH system what colour would one expect the water to be if it were drained?

It should be clear,it may have a brown or yellow tinge like tea before you add the milk, this is caused by the corrosion inhibitor. It should NOT be cloudy and red(very bad-corrosion) or black (old products of corrosion that stick to pumps, radiators etc.)If you have the latter two get the system fully flushed and treated with corrosion inhibitor.

Why do you add milk to drained CH water?

Can you add sugar as well?

Twist of Lemon?

Even the cleanest systems seem to have a bit of black at the bottom of the rads!
