If you have a cylinder to provide hot water it may be the valve there, if a combi could be diverter valve or flow switch. Can you provide a little more info
You mean a Gem combi boiler don't you?
I suspect you need a new diverter valve - which is no longer available. There is a conversion kit that allows you to use a Honeywell 3-wired diverter valve - I think.
I can't remember what position the valve rest in on the boiler though so without more information I can not be too specific.
In operation this wasnt too bad a boiler, btu now I think you'll have trouble getting spares - consider replacing it.
