Hi
I've bitten the bullet to decorate my living room, and try and sort out some of the nasty things that previous owners have inflicted upon it. The original 1950's tiled fire surround has been stripped of many layers of gloss and emulsion revealing a really nice grey and black tiled surround.
The next problem has me stumped, as I'm not sure what to do for the best.
At some point when CH was fitted, they have run two 15mm pipes through the chimney breast. The top pipe is proud of the hearth and I've only realised when I've removed some of the damaged tiles. I do still use the open fire and would like to carry on doing so.
Do I simply try and get them as low as possible using the same route ? The floors are solid, and due to the back door, this is the only route availible
Thanks
D
