Gentlemen
Some advice please. I would like to change the opening orientation of a standard kitchen unit door from regular outward opening to upward opening (it is awkward at the moment because of limited space to the side). I would need some kind of hinge that would allow the top of the door to miss the decorative cornicing (I'm not sure of the correct terminology but the top of the door would have to move outwards to miss the cornicing). Also I would like the door to stay put when released and not fall closed due to gravity so I would need a special hinge unit that could incorporate this facility or add some kind of gas piston. Do any of you wonderful chaps know of such devices/contraptions or arrangements?
Thanks.
