Hi,

context - I’m trying to change a standard pendant light for a spider pendant light with dimable bulbs.
I currently have 2 light switches in 1 room. Both switches control the main light in that room. However, one of the switch boxes is a double rocker (one switch is for the room light as previously mentioned and the other one controls an outdoor security led light).

my question is can I use a Single (2way box) on one wall and then a box with a dimmer for the indoor light and a rocker for the outside light? (again 2 way)....or do I need something else?
Thanks in advance

Thanks. I’ll pick up a double plate with a dimmer and switch on one...probably the easier way for me. I just wasn’t sure if I got that combo if they would both operate the indoor light only. Cheers.

You can get ready made plates (Google
“Dimmer and switch combination” but they are expensive. Cheaper to go for grid or swop one dimmer for a switch module.
Note: make sure the dimmer you buy is compatible with the lights. LED lights need special dimmers.
