Hi,

I want to change the light switch on my wall - its a double light switch.

I've unscrewed the faceplate to check the cables, wasn't sure it was looped etc. I have feeding this 2 different cables. Ones a 3 core (2 red and E), the other which i've never seen is a 2 core (1 Red and 1 E).

So the 3 core makes sense, one red in com and the other in L, then earth. Guessing the red from the 2 core is the other, but then on the old install theirs a bit of red cable looped within the device which has thrown me.....

Any advice would be appreciated.......

It doesn't really matter, does it?

If the lights are working properly, just transfer the connections to your new switches.

Mark the wires first so you don't mix them up.

The link is providing power to the second light switch, the other red is the switched live. Remove the link and see if the second light still works.

Blup
