We’ve just bought our first home

The kitchen has the fluorescent strip lights. We can see that the wiring is coming through one centre hole in the ceiling.

Just wondering if we were to buy two sets of ceiling lights (think wooden strips with bulbs hanging down) is it possible to wire up the two sets of wire to the one ceiling light cable?
