I have some rads to swap on a vented system and know they can be a pain refilling. It was originally going to be one rad so I was looking at freezing it to alter the pipework. I have and electrical freezer. But it's going to be 2 rads now. Both rads down stairs. Would you entertain freezing or just drain. And how fills ok?

Buy a tank bung kit.
Do one valve at a time as you now have a sealed system.

Might be easier to drain tbh.

When filling open one valve only and rad bleed valve. Water in and air out. Move on to next valve and repeat. Less likely to get problem with air trapped..

Thanks I'm altering the pipework so will need to solder unless I crimp. So don't no if bunging the tank would work.. I do have a tank bung kit.

Drain then.

Turn all the rads in the house off..
Drain remaining water.
Think about how you fill Vs just opening everything up

Thanks it's 15mm pipework. To the rads. I had a bad time filling on an open vented system with 8mm microbore. Does the microbore make filling harder?
