Hi all

My first post here and I have just moved into my new house. Have 0 experience with plumbing.

Noticed my kitchen sink trap is a mess (image attached). And doesn't seem to have an outlet that will reach my washing machine (the machine is positioned to the right of the sink).

Will the following item from Screwfix be suitable? https://www.screwfix.com/p/mcalpine-sink-kit-white-40mm/801hr

I'm hoping it's a case of removing the old one and fitting this item to it but conscious that I may need to make some adjustments.

Thanks

Hi,

Welcome to the forum!

I'm just a DIY'er,
But yes, your selection should do the job! :)
Alternatively, you could just use one of these:
https://www.screwfix.com/p/floplast-hose-connector-40mm/48625

On the right hand side of the image, there is a blanking plug inserted without a retaining ring! - the above hose connector could just replace that.

...and I may have used a little silicone on joints in the past, just to make sure.. but that is a tad extreme!

P.s. personally, I'm a big fan of 'Spyder'! :)
