I'm having an island fitted in my kitchen which needs power for a popup socket. The spark came today and we chased out the concrete floor with his diamond chaser. The cut slab cam up in 1 piece but I have 2 questions-

1. What conduit should we use? (i'm concerned the white plastic stuff might give way and crack the floor and tiles that will be put on top)

2. The floor underneath is damp. The slab that we cut out is a damp proof layer. How do I re-seal the protect against damp and what mix should I use to fill it in. I was going to use a 3/4:1 mix with some SBR added?

Why are you employing an electrician who doesn't know how to do his job properly?

The guy is (presumably) going to certify that the work he did complies with the Building Regulations. That means all of them, including Part A - structure.

Galvanised steel seems like a good choice to me.

I'm not a builder, but I'd not be surprised to find that that was a bad mistake.
