I need to cut out some warpy old chipboard in a bathroom to re-floor in ply. A small amount of it is trapped under a lightweight partition wall and so I can't use a circular saw. There is an external and an internal corner too, and it runs into a small alcove. I tried a floorboard saw and got worn out. There are pipes beneath.

Is there anywhere selling cheap ones at the moment?

thanks for the link. Is Worx OK?

I ought to do it in the next two weeks or thereabouts. The old chipboard is starting to crack.

Quite likely I will not need one again for years.

I have some Nectar points so I think I will get one at Argos. Is a bit cheaper than elsewhere.

FWIW, Aldi currently have a corded multi-tool on offer, and on Thursday will have a 10.8V Li-ion cordless on offer for £29.99 and a spares kit of blades for £9.99. It's in their current Special Buys flyer. It does state that the cordless version has a 3-year warranty, so it might be worth a punt.

Damn

I got the Agro's one (used my Nectar points).

Aldi cheap tools usually seem good value, with a good guarantee. Didn't see it last time I got a flyer. I might get their blades kit. Presumably the blade fitting is standard.

if its off any consolation i checked lidl and aldi when i posted above
well at least you used your nectar points up (y)

Further to my post above, I bought the cordless multi-tool this afternoon. Turns out it is actually a 12V Li-ion battery, not 10.8V as I thought it was. The spares kit is also pretty good, and both for under forty quid has to be a bargain

none to be seen yesterday in my local Aldi, corded or cordless.

They still had a few spare blade kits, so I got one.

its all a con really its the same 3x3.6v cells which when fully charged will be around 20% overvolt at 13v the industry standard is 3.6/3.7v per cell so at a push 11v but not 12v

Not long ago I bought a 240v ryobi and it wouldn't cut through a bit of 3x2 CLS, initially I thought it may of been the tool itself so took it back and swapped it for a dewalt and the difference was night and day, but now I'm beginning to think it was the blades, I mean how can ryobi get the tool so wrong compared to dewalt when all they both have to do is vibrate which they both seemed to do just fine yet the ryobi just would not penetrate the softwood, purely just from my experience I think I'll steer clear of cheap blades
