Cheap way to improve driveway

Morning all

We’re renovating our recently purchased home. The driveway is (once was) concrete - but it’s all broken up and crumbling. Past the point of fixing small areas.

We’re considering gravelling it - it’s a really large area though (front can house 3 cars then it goes down the side of the house to the garage) so wondered if anyone had any tips for the cheapest resolution (we want to spend the bulk of our money internally).

Problem with gravel on concrete drive, unless you make it deep enough. Is it's a major slip hazard and an accident waiting to happen, so I wouldn't advise it.

I have a similar thing to you at my house, the drive appears to not have enough cement in it so over the years it's worn away with rain. It has cracked but hasn't had any movement in the 3 years we been here.

I was looking at resin drives, but it only works if the concrete is sound underneath.

I've decided once I've saved up, I'll mango the drive up and do it properly, I'll likely go resin, imo it's easier to keep than block work drive. And looks a damn site nicer than concrete.

You won't be able to put resin over that, nor gravel, gravel needs to be a couple of inches deep to not be a slip hazard and that would mean raising the drive level.

You could tarmac it, but it won't last very long, only thing to really do is take it up and lay whatever you want down.

Unfortunately there is no quick fix on this one, nor is it going to be cheap,

Isn't that a tarmac overlay on a concrete drive? You could get another tarmac overlay. That should last at least 10 years.
