kev, where exactly would you locate the check valves?
would you install check valves routinely on a shower installation or only on certain kinds of shower installations?
are there any other places in a plumbing system that you would install check valves?

check valves in the hot water pipe before the mixer (under the bath).

If you have an outside tap, should have a double check valve in the pipework.

Sometimes recommendations are given in the instructions that came with the mixer tap. Sometimes they are even given in your combi boiler manual.
