I am having a problem that has been an issue for a good while with my car A/C.

My A/C start when i start my car after 2-3 second delay which is normal but go down as i move my car .it start again when car moving at around 40 kmph it start with a very faint click noise and i can feel the load of ac on my car otherwise works excellent when I am driving more than say 40 kmph. But at idle or moving in slow traffic. It's not putting out the cold air

I get it serviced from local mechanic who clean its parts and fill some gas (freon )but there is no change in this particular problem although cooling is better then previous when car running. I again visit my mechanic he checked it and enable to figure out problem and suggest plenty of reason i followed him and change my coolant clean radiator RPM checked fuse checked but no difference in problem.

Then i changed my machanic He checked pressure and all stuff and give conclusion that previous mech. did not fill gas properly and put a local gas in it and i will put original gas that is R-134a although he may be correct but i have a doubt if gas not original then why ac working fine on high speed

its looks like problem exist only at slow deriving I have no other issues under normal driving. My electric fans are both working.

So, here I am with my hat in hand asking for some help or advice

update : i istalled CNG kit i yrs back but problem look unrelated to CNG becouse i had this problem on petrol also

mt car model chevrolet spark oct 2008

I'll have a bit of a bash here.....
The air compressor clutch is disengaging and then re-engaging - this is the sound you hear when you are driving along.
1) The gas in the system needs to be of the correct type, and it must also contain a percentage of lubricating oil.
2) The gas must be at the manufacturers recommended pressure for the system to work properly. All old gas must be completely evacuated from the system before new gas is introduced.
3) The ribbed rubber belt driving the A/C compressor needs to be tight and in good condition.
4) Before air con systems can work, the internal cooling fan must work on position 1, and the internal car heater turned down to cold.
If this still fails, its off to an A/C specialist I'm afraid.
John :)

if the clutch is actually disengaging something must be signalling it to do this
are you sure its not just a feature of the car cuttng the a/c out at low speed to save on fuel?
