Hey. I want to swap these chimney caps - ridge tiles that are mortared on - but I am not sure how to get them off without cracking edge of the pot. I want to stop any water getting in and replace them with the kind of new plastic cap but bit worried about cracking the edge of the pot when taking the mortar off. Ideas ? Thanks.

thanks .... I do have an old one barely used it ... do you think the vibrations could cause the pot to crack? Would it be better to get a thin diamond blade to slice through ... rather than typical grinder blade ?
