I have been told that a property that I rent out needs to have its chimney cowl removed and replaced as the flue is Class 1 and the cowl is Class 2. The cowl fitted is pretty similar to the one shown in the picture below ie it looks like a terracotta ridge tile fixed on top of the chimney pot

Can any Engineers who carry out Landlords Gas Safety Certs please confirm if I am being advised correctly

Thanks for the response. So what's the difference between a Class 1 and a Class 2 cowl?

Your terminal is not considered suitable for most gas burning appliances. What is it connected to?

You should get the cowl changed, shouldn't cost that much,,and according to the photo, you already have scaffolding around the chimney!! ;)

OK. The photo was one I googled, not the actual property in question, but i'll get the cowl swapped. Thanks for the advice.
