Hello,

I just bought a new house and the builder told me that the chimney has been lined and it has insulation. When I looked inside up at the chimney opening from the fireplace I can see it is round all the way up. My question is do I need an additional flexible flue liner to be installed to my chimney if I need to install a woodburning stove or is it good as it is?

Thanks

It all depends on the flue liner already installed. There are types only suitable for gas appliances, so unless you know which it is, then you'd be better off taking it out and having a new one put in. Don't forget you need to notify building control, as a chimney is a regulated device AFAIK.
