Christmas lights help!!

Early I know, but I got some new lights ages ago in advance of Christmas this year and I finally got round to testing them.

to cut a very long story short, these are interconnecting fairy lights (image of the connection terminals attached) and I have a transformer to plug into the string of lights. The idea is they daisy chain.
For some reason, the lights are not working! I know the transformer is working and I’ve tried 2x these sets of lights which are not.
can anyone help me please? The lights and transformer are from the same manufacturer.

I have some Lidi smart lights, they have a link which seems to show you can add a second set, but the controller is only large enough for one set, the link is so you can cut the set into two, not so you can add more.

are you pushing the connecter in the right way round, even with the flat edge they can sometimes go in wrong way.
Start by testing each run on its own, from the transformer

Is the transformer underpowered for the lights ? Could that be causing the issue?

Your lights are rated at 0.75watts. The power supply (not transformer) is rated at 1.5 watts. So it could supply 2 sets.

I was sort of hoping it would be as easy as someone saying the transformer isn’t powerful enough. but good to know they should work with that.

As I said it is a power supply not a transformer. Why would you think they would supply one not powerful enough?

The ‘power supply’ is from a different set of lights. They weren’t supplied together.

With this info I looked closely at the label on the lights. It says it needs a 31 volt supply. Yours is 5 volt. No wonder they don't work.

Amazing. Thank you. My knowledge of electrics is zero (hence you having to correct my language) so at least I know now that I need a more powerful supply!

Not actually more powerful but the correct voltage. The label on the lights give a web address where you can order one from.

Well it is the right voltage and has sufficient power so I assume it will be OK.
