Chrome bottle trap for wall basin

I want to have a basin fitted to a brick wall (so not a cavity wall, and no pedestal).

I'll need a chrome bottle trap.

Since the water pipes going up to the basin will be exposed (no cavity wall) they'll also be chrome.

When I type bottle trap into eBay I noticed that they all appear to be manufactured so that the waste water pipe goes into the wall; such as below.

Since there doesn't appear to be any alternative to this, do I simply purchase something in this style and use the bottle trap section (which always seems to be detachable), dispose of the short horizontal pipe, and attach chrome pipework from the detached bottle trap down to under the floorboards?

If so, then I imagine that I'd need some form of chrome L-shaped joint to connect the vertical chrome pipework to the bottle trap. What is the name of this part so I can search for it?

A trap like the McAlpine CAA10 would do the trick - it's like a regular trap in that it doesn't come with the branch which disappears off into the wall.

A chrome 32mm elbow

Most 32mm chromed brass elbows are a lot more expensive than I thought they would be.

Luckily I found one at £14.75 inc P&P:

The webpage above states that it is a compression fitting for non-pressure use.

Just thought I'd post this up in case anyone else happens to be looking for one at a reasonable price, though I've no idea what they would cost from a plumber's merchants.

I've noticed that it's possible to purchase this:

It does state 35mm, though I've also noticed that sellers will state 1&1/4" and then beside this 32mm or sometimes 35mm. So possibly a seller stating 32mm or 35mm could possibly both mean 1&1/4".

With this product, I presume I wouldn't need an elbow since I'd imagine it would just go into the bottle trap. I wonder if it would still need some form of connector?

Be careful, sometimes the fitting on the end of the horizontal pipe is bespoke to the trap itself. It usually narrows before entering the trap with a specific screw ring.

Most compression waste fittings, especially McAlpine, will accept (tightly) a 35mm pipe

Also watch out for the "chrome on metal" description too as it probably won't be chromed brass, that can then corrode quite quickly.
