Hi, i have a chrysler neon auto, 2.0, y reg, 75,000 miles, when i start the car in morning or after a lenth of time it will not select the gears, if i put it in drive or any forward gears it lurches forward and stalls, yet put it in reverse and its no problem, after the car warms up and i manage to get going it seems to work ok ? any body any ideas, cheers.

have you checked the oil level?
I agree with the above......about the only thing that can be easily done with auto's is to replace the oil and clean the filter (within the transmission sump pan). After that most people get stuck - especially me!
