Almost new kitchen installation, including consumer unit & appliances. Just out of warranty period. Electrolux EOB6632 built in oven trips main circuit breaker (VR80 - 80A/30mA), BUT ONLY ON THERMOSTAT SETTINGS OF 180C OR ABOVE, when oven reaches set temperature. Individual CB for oven not affected. Not apparently a continuous rating problem. Seems to be a current spike when oven clicks off, buy why only at settings of 180C and above? Installation electrician says the VR80 is particularly sensitive, but that doesn't solve the problem!

The main breaker is an RCD, not an MCB or RCBO.

It provides no overcurrent protection, and hence is not tripping because of any "current spike", it's tripping because of a fault to earth.

Why it only happens over a certain temperature I don't know (does it have two elements?) nor why it happens when the thermostat clicks off.
