I have a fluke T50 tester, they are fairly good and do what they say on the tin. I don't like them as much as my old fluke T2 testers as they had somewhere to clip the probes when not in use.

I have the Fluke T50 which I like as will show voltage indication even when batteries are discharged or when no batteries are fitted. Some don't.

Got mine for £25.00.

I had a rebadged fluke T50, but a huge flaw with these is they will more often than not trip an RCD when testing between L & E, and as a result they are sat gathering dust in the garage.

I used to have a fluke T2. They were ace, and I'm sure I'd still be using them now if I hadn't left them on a job somewhere.

I've been using a fluke T5 every day for the last 5 years or so, and if your budget will stretch to it then I'd definatly recommend them. The only down side is IIRC they don't comply with GS38.

From my manual:
For voltage tests (L towards PE) in systems with RCD devices, the RCD may be triggered. To avoid RCD tripping first test between L and N (approx.5s). Immediately afterwards testing L towards PE can be carried out without RCD tripping.

What a palaver

Not much good if youv'e only got a L and an E ;)

What a silly design

Go for the Di-Log everytime, never found anything that sits nicer in the hands. They don't trip on L-E and even do phase rotation. As a bonus theres a little light (which has got me out of the brown in a loft before) and will even detect voltage without batteries inserted.

Oh - sorry - dunno what's going on there - it works for me.

Wow, I paid a whole £5.32 more for mine than that one. But mine did come with a hard copy of the manual and a canvas storage bag. ;)

Christ BAS, you spent six days trying to find one for less than I paid. You are to be congratulated son.

Actually I didn't spend any time looking for one at any price - I just googled it because I wondered how/if a T50 differed from a Steinel Combi Check or a Fluke T5-1000.

When I saw that Alert were selling it for that I thought I'd flag it to the OP that your £25 might not be the best he could do, as he'd said he might buy one.

But thanks anyway for your congratulations.
