Cistern drip

When i flush the cistern it fills up and then it drips very slowly if the cistern is not flushed it would come out the overflow (this would take days )i have fitted a new diaphragm but still drips . thanks for any ideas

Does it stop when you lift the ball arm? If so it sounds like you need a new washer on the valve. Very easy to change.

Yes the ball valve, does it stop if you lift the arm? If not have you cleaned all the parts when re-assembling? It does not need much to stop the seal working.
 
Have cleaned refitted diaphragm still drips one drip per 8 secs. is there any other part of the valve area that can leak ?
 
I've given up putting new diaphragms on plastic ball valves in toilet cisterns. Have tried several different makes of diaphragm, but with little success.

For 3 quid at screwfix for a new valve, its not worth messing around with.
 
i only deed the top of the valve i do not wont to start undoing connections that are hard to get at ,it is in the corner with no room to move .
