Cistern keeps filling

Help! The cistern keeps filling, if I jam it up, it's only a drip but any lower and water pours in. Any assistance would be great...

Take the float valve out and fit a fluidmaster.

I doubt you'll be able to fit a fluidmaster in there the way the syphon is, get the fluidmater and flapper valve kit and replace that as well.

Thank you, I'll have to pick the bits up next weekend from screw fix and figure out how to install it . Thanks again. Will I need any other tools to do the install and take out the old?

Depends how confident your are E...or you could be mopping up after the first flush ... does the cistern sit on top of the pan (closed coupled) or is it on the wall (low level)?
