Hello,
Very new to the site, always search here before I undertake a project that im unsure of.
A little about me first. I'm a Carpenter by trade but recently given up the building trade to more humble of possitions. I now work as a Site Supervisor at a local school.
Still the same hours etc but the work is less demanding and I enjoy the Health and Safety side of things!
Now if you would be so kind as to help me decide where to start with this!
This is our tempory (25yrs old) classroom.
Asyou may see its in a very bad state of repair.
I plan to clad this building in new treated Shiplap timber and then stain.
I would like to also insulate it some more against heat loss as you can imagne it is quite the energy sap.
Now I would like to know other peoples thoughts on the best way to start. It has electrics running though the building walls.
Currently it is 3x2 timbers, covered in a 9mm ply and then painted with the artex type stuff. I first thought to insulate with super9 rolls, batton then clad.
But i may hit electric wires running thorough! So do you think it may be worth removing all the ply and starting from bare walls?
Although it may cost a little more in skip hire etc it will be safe that nailing through and hitting the voltage!
I do welcome any ideas or thoughts and really od look forward to hearing them!
Kind Regards
Jack!
