Lots of places sell temporary fencing in 3.5m lengths, with 2m height. I've noticed the clamps leave a gap though, so if you want an enclosure for small pets it's necessary to resort to so-called kennel clamps, but these are expensive.

Example, normal clamps with gap, are peanuts and available from any scaffold supplier:

Kennel clamps are significantly more expensive:

For the moment I've been overlapping the panels and clamping them back on themselves to close the gap but this makes things fiddly, and I need to keep relocating the enclosure so I'm looking for something that's quick.

Is there another cheap, quick solution that I've missed or do I just have to reach in my pocket on this one?

thanks!

if you jackknife the clamps [fold back on the other panel ]would the gap not be very small ??

Can you not just use some cheap 10mm nylon rope and thread it round from top to bottom.

Yes, this is what I do, I don't think I explained it very well though. It is hampered by the fact that I applied an extra layer of chicken wire over the panels, and those clamps have to be sort-of threaded through it to do the jackknife thing.

Cable ties? Or a bit of old fence wire twisted round? Or if you're feeling fancy, a jubilee clip?
