I'm going to put together a compilation of the very best of the above.

Can you help with suggestons, please?

I'm thinking Blame It On The Boogie, YMCA, Love Train, We Are Family, Freak Out, Lady Marmalade.

There must be loads more but I keep getting a mental block.

Mmm. Born To Be Alive, perhaps?

dear oh dear !!!! "classic 70's disco hits" is by definition an oxymoron !!!!

good riddance !

Nige, Martian, it's all a matter of opinion. Personally I can't stand heavy metal. I REALLY don't like Bon Jovi... and how they EVER got tagged as a 'Rock' band is beyond me BUT they're successful so someone must buy their stuff...... just like the 'disco' stuff back then.

Anyway, MM will be along shortly to tell us all how racist, sexist, ageist, etc this whole thread is.

Every decade has its mass-manufactured carp and its proper music.

Taking the two extremes of the scale from my short list above:

Boney M: mass-manufactured.
Billy Preston: the only person outside of the Fab Four to be credited with writing a Beatles single.

([pedantry]BTW, how is it an oxymoron?[/pedantry]) ;)

Probably because they play rock music... Just a wild guess. ;)

But seriously though, what else would you class them as? Rock is a very very wide net that covers pretty much anything that involves a guitar and drum-kit, plus a few things that don't.
