I HAVE AN IDEAL MINIMISER SE BOILER AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF IT IS POSSIBLE FOR ME TO CLEAN THE INSIDE MYSELF. I DID REMOVED THE FRONT PANEL AND FOUND THERE WAS YET ANOTHER PANEL SECURED WITH CLIPS AND WHICH APPEARED TO BE HINGED. I WAS NOT SURE ABOUT OPENING THIS PANEL IS CASE THERE WAS A PROBLEM REFITTING IT REGARDS TO SEALS ETC. IF ANYONE CAN ADVISE ME IF CLEANING IS WITHIN THE DIY SCOPE IT WOULD BE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED.

Do you mean you want to service your own gas boiler?

No she wants to clean inside it

What the f*** do you think the major part of servicing involves?

Standing around drinkin' tea, Scratchin' a$$, moaning about knee injury from weekend rugby, sucking in air noisily thro' teeth & saying "Umm" a lot

The answer is no it definitely isn't diy...burner removal, gas seals, electric etc.

No you're confused, that's the procedure for a breakdown repair.

YES I WANT TO CLEAN THE BOILER MYSELF IF POSSIBLE. I AM NOT A HEATING ENGINEER AND NOR AM I A MECHANIC BUT I HAVE STRPPED ENGINES AND SERVICED MY MOTORS. I AM JUST ASKING IF THIS CLEANING AS WITHIN THE DIY SCOPE. THE THINS NOT BUSTED BUT NEEDS A CLEAN.

what about "poppin out to the van for some tools" when you are really sneaking of for a crafty smoke

:)

I MUST start smoking. I'm missing that bit of personal time from my repairs. Also gives you something to do with your hands when water starts coming from the ceiling but you haven't a clue where it's coming from.

I obviously have not hit on the site I was hoping to find. I WAS hoping to get some intelligent advice and not sarcasm. It seems this forum is made up of people in the trade. Judging by the amount of people in this industry ripping people off, especially the elderly and most vulnerable, the response I got should have been expected.

lol....you were told no twice before it went off topic.

short memory and short fuse it seems
