Clicker bath waste threaded bar

Hi has anyone fitted a clicker bath waste with a threaded bar like this going through the back of the overflow?

Would be concerned of it leaking through the bar when the bar is it overflow level

Wrap a few turns of PTFE on the thread before fitting.

Thanks have you seen similar style overflows before?

Yes. Not the best of designs really. However there isn't much pressure in an overflow ,and PTFE will seal the thread adequately.

Thanks I did test it. In the sink filled the over flow but with water with it facing down so the screw covered in water and it didn't leak.
