A bit of a conundrum this year...

Were we supposed to put them back 14 days?
Or 54 days?
Or was it 46 years?

There won't be any more clock changes, soon; the EU has taken it upon itself to cancel them. Because apparently sovereign nations can't decide these things for themselves

"Member states should themselves decide whether their citizens live in summer or winter time."

And are we not having the same debate here in the UK?

As ever, things gets twisted by the anti-EU people ;)

What?

It's not that difficult to understand...

The EU have democratically decided that instead of a constant round of time changes, it would be better to decide on a time zone and stick with it...

The EU however is not dictating which option individual countries choose...

Geographical considerations are thus allowed to come into play...

Anti-EU folk ignore the facts and simply play it as a 'decree' - which is as relevant as the mythical 'decree' about the shape of bananas

Was there a ballot I missed?
Constant Time Discussion
The debate will take place on Thursday, October 27, 2016, at 15:00 to 17:00 Central European Summer Time (CEST).

Thursday's debate is called "Switch between summer and winter time" on the parliamentary agenda, but it is unsure what conclusions will come of the discussions. What is certain is that Daylight Saving Time is a constant source of debate within the European Union (EU).

A simple no would have been enough.

Unsurprisingly the people of the EU once again haven't been asked what they think; some may think it's trivial but we're all governed by time and how we make use of daylight.

I thought everybody knew about it. It was called 'unsere zeit'. And we weren’t asked. We were told.

Gotta love a remote beaurocracy that can unilaterally 'decide what's best' for half a billion people...

quite right. What's needed is a reasoned proposal, followed by a period of consultation with the governmernts of the nations concerned, and the Parliament, to make the decision.

Which is actually what happened.
