Hi I am looking to clone a security access key FOB. (Please see picture).
The fob looks like a simple coil, with a microchip inside. Does anyone know if it is possible to copy it and how I would go about that?
Assuming it is possible for me to buy a new fob, what is the point to the microchip? Does it have a unique ID on it, and hence is it possible for me to find a third party that could clone that unique ID onto a different microchip?
Or should I rather try to go the approach of trying to register the fob with the security system? It looks like I have access to the control pad - but could someone give me a step by step approach on how I would register the new fob? Many thanks!
If anyone can give me any links to manuals or specific names I can use to google (the company is called Paradox) I'd be very grateful.
This is for the building that I live in. Unfortunately the body corporate for this block of flats seems to be run by old people that are refusing to issue a second key fob. With my girlfriend and I both working it is turning into a bit of a nightmare to coordinate which one of us gets to keep the single key. Feels like living in a prison since I sometimes can't leave the flat on occasions I have to sit and wait around until my girlfriend arrives home to let her in.
