I've been trying to find some sort of ratchet that I can attach a clothes line to (at present it has a top pulley and 'tie off' hook) so as to lower and raise it. It's quite long, and a full load of wet clothes is difficult to pull up..

Has anyone seen something that will do the job?

cheers

You'll need a double pulley to make light work, a triple pulley is a bonus

I had thought of the extra pulley(s), but was trying to get something like the open/close mechanism we have on our patio table parasol - the beauty being that the line wouldn't 'slip', or so I hope...

pop into your friendly local Yachties shop and ask for a Jam Cleat or a Cam Cleat.

Warning: As boat-owners invariably have more money than sense, bits for boats are always overpriced.

I don't know if you're joking soaringjock but thinking about it, it's not a bad idea and wouldn't be difficult to do :!:

I've seen cheaper one about, I think it was in Makro
