The big advantage with cls is that it has been regularised so it's all the same width and thickness. It gets used for many things from studding and framework to almost anything else you can think of.

not quite sure what you mean by this. Although it's planed it isn't joinery quality or price so I wouldn't use it for anything really decent. However, if you are building say a carport or summerhouse where the timbers are on show then cls looks better than sawn timber but works out cheaper than par stock.
