Hi, this morning when the Central heating came on there was an almighty banging and clonking that started in the pipes.
I turned the central heating off and investigated the pipes in the airing cupboard - the pump seemed very hot and there was a sort of wooshing sound/ air coming from that area.
Then about twenty minutes later I noticed brown water shooting out of the header tank overflow. Checked the header tank and sure enough its full of hot water!
Whats going on - is it as simple as the pump has stopped working so water isn't being pumped so overheats / turns to steam and expands/blows back to header tank.
Solution new pump - or could it be something else.
Hot water side of system seems fine - system ten years old - baxi solo boiler.
Thanks
