co incident

does anyone remember a case of a guy who was ex british gas for 20 years. woman died 3 years . it was alleged that he adjusted the premix valve. he wasnt convicted. wondering about ther details as even if the premix was adjusted how did co get back into the flat in this incident?

some installers of powermax's (and often kestons) run the flues under floorboards, not the best idea as it's impossible to check them without ripping up floors or pulling down ceilings. many are installed like this in flats.

I think the details need updating. I understand that no-one was convicted because the person who had carried out the defective work could not be identified.

iirc he was alledged to have altered the gas valve and neither him or his mate checked the burner seal which was defective and spilling.

ive stopped doing powermaxs ages ago. mainly located in newbuilds over past 5 years with concealed flues and inherient safety probls as outlined by mike the boilerman. there a no. kestons too. if i cant inspect flue route im out of there.

good for you, i would be the same, have a thought for the poor ****s who have no choice but to work on them. i regularly put them back for what ever excuse i can think of but even then i have to do the odd one.
