Coving adhesive has a working time of about 45 minutes. Why is it then, that if you drop a glob of it on the floor, then tread on it accidently, then walk on the customer's carpet, it dries instantly? Same thing with tile adhesive. And why, when you use superglue to repair, say, a china ornament, the glue dries instantly to your fingers (gluing them to the ornament), but the the repair you're trying to make takes ages to dry?
